Tide & Canyon is an independent guide to Orange County, written by people who actually live and eat here.
Orange County gets described by people who have seen it from a freeway. They mention the beaches, the boats, a television show that went off the air, and then they run out of material. Somewhere in that retelling, the county most of us recognize disappears entirely.
Ours runs from a working harbor at one end to a canyon road at the other. The good parts are rarely the ones with valet parking. A Vietnamese kitchen in a Garden Grove strip mall. A pastry case in Tustin worth setting an alarm for. Someone in Fullerton doing something with a wood fire that nobody has caught on to yet.
